NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the student youth of 11th & 12th Class of schools at +2 Board level and student youth of Technical Institution, Graduate & Post Graduate at colleges and University level of India to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes.The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service. Since inception of the NSS in the year 1969, the number of students strength increased from 40,000 to over 3.8 million up to the end of March 2018 students in various universities, colleges and Institutions of higher learning have volunteered to take part in various community service programmes.

NSS-SVRFGC

National Service Scheme (NSS) is a body for social service affiliated to Bangalore University. NSS Unit at SVRFG College aims at involvement of students on voluntary basis in various activities of social service. There are 100 Volunteers enrolled in NSS Unit. Various programmes are implemented through Regular Activities and seven days Special. The NSS is part of our academic, social and personal life as it is the third dimension of education. It allows the youth to actively contribute their service for the cause of community and the nation, thus helping them develop their personality.

Aims & Objectives

NSS aims to inculcate social welfare in students and to provide selfless service to society. The main objective of the association is to arouse social consciousness among students to work for the underprivileged and marginalized sections of our society. It enables the students to identify the needs and solution to the problems of the community to which they belong. It facilitates not only to develop competence required for group living and sharing responsibilities but also to acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.

NSS Special Camp

NSS unit of SVRFGS Organized a special Camp in Thirumurthy Rural Development center, jakkasndra ,Kanakapura Taluk from 21/12/2019 - 27/12/2019. The Volunteers of the NSS unit Performed many other activites - awareness programmers as literacy, tree planation, health and hygience and Commmunual harmony etc.
