To root out ragging in all its forms from the institution, an anti-ragging cell has been established as per the guidelines of UGC. Ragging in any form is totally banned in the entire institution and strict action against those found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging is taken. All complaints pertaining to any kind of ragging by any student/group of students of the College inside or outside the College campus may be reported to ‘Anti-ragging Cell’ by writing a letter or sending a mail to svrfgcollege@gmail.com.
Anti-Ragging Committee will be the Supervisory and Advisory Committee in preserving a
Culture of a Ragging Free Environment on the college campus. The Anti-Ragging
Committee engages in the works of checking places like Classrooms, corridors,
playgrounds, and other places of student congregation. Anti-Ragging Committee will be
involved in designing strategies and action plans for curbing the menace of Ragging in the
college by adopting array of activities.
Anti-Ragging Committee Redressal Mechanism
ARC will investigate all reported cases of ragging, in such a way, so as to maintain
confidentiality to the extent practicable under the circumstances. The investigations should
start maximum within three (03) days of reporting the incident and reports finalized by the
ARC pinpointing the involvement of the accused along with recommendations relating to the
punishment will be submitted to the competent authority maximum within a period of four
(04) weeks. In exceptional circumstances, the Chairperson ARC may grant an extension to
the time limit under information to the complainant and the accused.
Process of Enquiry
The process of inquiry should be such to ensure that principles of natural justice are adhered
to. Details of the process would be identical as in the case of the ‘Sexual Harassment Policy’
adopted by the Institute. If the ragging also includes an element of sexual harassment then, in
that case, both committees i.e. ARC and Sexual Harassment committee will look into the
matter independently of each other.
Punishment / Penalties for ‘ragging’
Based on the report of inquiry submitted by the ARC, the Chairperson ARC will recommend
to the competent authority any of the punishment/(s) listed below or any other kind of
punishment, which she/he may consider to be appropriate.
- i.Withholding scholarships or other benefits
- ii. Debarring from representation of events.
- iii. Withholding results
- iv. Debarring from examination/s.
- v. Suspension from the institute or class for a limited period.
- vi.Fine with a public apology
- vii. Prosecuting for a criminal offense.
- viii. Filing FIR with the local police
- ix. Cancellation of admission

The Institution has constituted a Sexual Harassment (Prevention and Redressal) Committee to ensure that the students, teachers and non-teaching staff can work together in an environment free of gender violence, sexual harassment and discrimination on the basis of sex and gender. Students who feel they are victims of sexual harassment can complain in person to the Committee or send an email to svrfgcollege@gmail.com along with details of their name and register number. The written complaint could be given in person to the Coordinator of the Cell
The cell was constituted to meet the four basic objectives
- 1. To develop the guidelines and norms for a policy against sexual harassment.
- 2. To develop principles and procedures for combating sexual harassment.
- 3. To work out details for the implementation of the policy.
- 4. To prepare a detailed plan of action, both short and long term
RESOLUTION PROCESS/ MECHANISM OF REDRESSAL
The process of conducting an Inquiry shall broadly comprise the following steps:

A. Corrective action for students
Where the respondent is a student of the Institute and is found guilty of sexual
harassment, depending upon the severity of the offense, the IC may
recommend any or a combination of the following penalties for sexual
harassment or unwelcome sexual conduct - (the following list is not exhaustive)
- (i) Warning, reprimand, or censure.
- (ii) Bar on representing the Institute in any co-curricular/extra-curricular
activities.
- (iii) Removal and/or bar on holding any positions of responsibility.
- (iv) Suspension or expulsion from the Institute.
B. Corrective action for Faculty/Non-teaching staff/other employees
If the respondent is an employee of the Institute and is found guilty of sexual
harassment, then the IC may recommend any or a combination of the following

The function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit. The Grievance cell is also empowered to look into matters of harassment. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the department members in person, or in consultation with the officer in-charge Students’ Grievance Cell. In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the suggestion box of the Grievance Cell at Administrative Block.
